Accessibility policy
Welcome. This is the accessibility statement for https://strnordic.ie
(organisation: STR Nordic Oy)
STR Nordic is committed to ensuring digital accessibility. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure our e-commerce experience is inclusive and easy to navigate.
This accessibility statement concerns the service strnordic.ie and it has been drafted / updated on 04.03.2026. The service is governed by the European Accessibility Act, which requires public online services to be accessible.
This statement is based on a self-assessment
Accessibility status of the digital service
STR Nordic is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that while the majority of the website meets these standards, some parts of the content or technical implementation do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard as we continue our development.
The website is not yet fully compliant
Perceivable: Non-text content is missing descriptive text
Unconforming content and its affects
As we manage a large catalog, some product images or banners may currently lack descriptive "Alt-text." As not all non-text content currently has descriptive text, website visitors in need of descriptive text for visual content will not be aware of the contents. We are actively auditing our library to ensure all non-text content is described for screen reader users.
Accessibility criteria that are not met.
1.1.1 Non-text Content
Operable: Keyboard functionality not entirely supported
Unconforming content and its affects
While core-user flows are supported with keyboard functionality, the entirety of the website does not currently support keyboard functionality. This is under development. All core user flows, including navigation, search, and the checkout process, are designed to be fully operable using a keyboard. There may be other areas that still result in difficulties with keyboard functionality.
Accessibility criteria that are not met.
2.1.1 Keyboard
Understandable: Visual labels not entirely supported
Unconforming content and its affects
While standard fields support visual labels, development of all programmatic association labels across fields is still under development. Not all forms may therefore have labels at the moment.
Accessibility criteria that are not met.
3.3.2 Labels or instructions
Understandable: Conformity of error suggestion
Unconforming content and its affects
The system only partially suggests the correct format in cases of errors in forms. This is still under development. At the moment, form errors are clearly identified in text and linked to the specific field to help users correct mistakes during the checkout or registration process.
Accessibility criteria that are not met.
3.3.3 Error suggestion
Robust: Compatibility with user agents only partially compliant
Unconforming content and its affects
This area is still under development, in order for custom components on the site to be able to announce their attributes to user agents.
Accessibility criteria that are not met.
4.1.2 Name, role, value
Robust: Absence of announcement of status messages
Unconforming content and its affects
There is currently no support for machine readers to announce status messages. We are currently implementing upgrades to ensure that dynamic updates (like "Item added to cart") are automatically announced by screen readers via ARIA live regions.
Accessibility criteria that are not met.
4.1.3 Status messages
Fulfillment of service-specific additional requirements and other
information about the service
Service-specific additional requirements
The service in question (e-commerce service provider) does not currently sell products that are under the accessibility directive. Therefore this requirement is non-applicable.
