Omega-3 is a Norwegian-made dietary supplement that can help maintain normal blood pressure * and normal triglyceride levels in the blood *.
The omega-3 fatty acid DHA is also important for maintaining normal brain function and normal vision *.
There are different types of omega-3 fatty acids, but the most important ones are called DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentanoic acid).

Omega-3 is a group of so-called essential fatty acids that the body requires. Most people today know that omega-3 is very important for their health. However, our body’s are not very good at producing omega 3 itself. Therefore, it is important that we get enough omega-3 from our diet which should be at least 250 mg per day.
The problem is that very few children and adults eat enough fatty fish each week. Therefore, it makes sense to supplement with a high quality omega-3 product. This makes it much easier to get what you need of these vital fatty acids every day, so that your body can function optimally.

STR Nordic Omega-3 has been approved with a full 5 star rating, which is the highest approval IFOS gives to an omega-3 product.
Five-star quality certificate
We work in partnership with Nutrasource, founded in 2002. Nutrasource's IFOS (International Fish Oil Standards) programme is the world's only independent analysis and certification programme for fish oils. Nutrasource awards fish oils the highest IFOS rating of five stars based on rigorous laboratory testing. The five-star IFOS certification ensures that the levels of tartaric acid, or TOTOX, in Omega-3 are low. Similarly, the levels of heavy metals, PCBs and other environmental toxins are well below the permitted limits.
No GMO ingredients
Omega-3 contains soft-encapsulated fish oil. There is nothing in it that is not mentioned on our labels. For this reason, we have also obtained Igen NON-GMO certification for the product. The Igen certificate is also a certificate issued by Nutrasource based on laboratory tests, which guarantee that the product does not contain any genetically modified ingredients.
Responsible fishing
The fish used in the production of Omega-3 Fish Oil is ethically and sustainably fished. This is proven by the Friend of the Sea certificate awarded to Omega. Friend of the Sea is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable fishing, aims to minimize the impact of fishing on the ecosystem and promotes the use of selective fishing methods. Certification ensures that fish do not come from overfished, poorly known or recovering stocks. It also ensures that fishing methods do not damage the seabed, and that fishing must meet all legal requirements.
Strict environmental and cleanliness requirements
The requirements set by IFOS in order for approval of the product are that the contents of the capsules are analyzed and the content of omega-3 fatty acids must be in accordance with what is stated on the label.
Furthermore, IFOS ’strict requirements for the content of environmental toxins and heavy metals must be met. These are requirements that are stricter than, for example, the WHO’s guidelines for omega-3 products.
Document freshness and low oxidation values
To be approved with 5 stars by IFOS, one must also document that the product is fresh and not rancid. These are called oxidation values, which are measured in TOTOX. The TOTOX values must be low and significantly lower than all other international requirements to pass IFOS ’strict requirements.
